Logo Design: Alberta Biodiversity Festival

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo and Bow Habitat Station required a unifying logo for their renamed Alberta Biodiversity Festival. This collaborative project demanded a visual identity that would bridge both organizations while authentically representing the province's ecological diversity. The design needed to communicate conservation values, align with Government of Alberta guidelines, and maintain versatility across diverse applications while establishing a distinctive presence for this important annual event.

The logo unites both organizations through strategic iconography: a whooping crane representing the Zoo's Species Survival Plan paired with a fish symbolizing Bow Habitat Station's aquatic conservation focus. The Government of Alberta's signature "Sunset" palette ensures official brand alignment, while Avant Garde Gothic typography balances the organic illustration elements. This cohesive design maintains legibility across diverse applications while effectively communicating the festival's collaborative conservation mission.
